A baby snugli is a combination of the traditional snug baby carriers and modern features as seen in stylish baby carriers. The snugli offers additional support for babies within one year of age. Unlike the traditional snug carriers, which are basically a piece of cloth for carrying babies; the snugli has straps that run across the baby, thus providing vertical support to the young one.

The baby snugli can be used to carry a new born, since it provides the baby’s head with enough support. For a nursing mother whose breasts are probably sore from the constant nursing or just painful from the milk contained in them, the snugli comes as a welcome relief since the straps are designed to avoid contact with the breasts. To provide support for the baby on the mother’s chest is a diagonal strap that is much more comfortable than the vertical straps used in other carriers.

In addition, the baby snugli is designed for use in different sized women (or men). This is made possible by the adjustable straps. Additionally, the carrier can be used either on the back or the front side, depending on whichever side one is more comfortable with. While taking a walk with the baby, one needs not carry extra luggage bag because the snugli is fitted with sizeable pockets that can carry an extra diaper, or mom’s accessories such as a small wallet or a cell phone. If you choose to put a cell phone on the carrier’s pockets ensure that it is not on vibration mode.

The baby snugli features include an outer shell fitted with sturdy foam. This is responsible for cradling the baby and offering support to his back and head. The outer-shell also restricts the movements of the baby thus making it perfect for use on newborns. The snugli is also fitted with a t-shaped strap, which is fitted between the baby’s legs. This feature further secures the baby around his or her waist thus meaning the mother does not need to worry about the baby’s comfort and security just in case the mother stumbles or falls while walking.

The baby snugli further has snap-up features, which helps cradle and secure the baby, hence protecting the little one against the sun or cold weather. When choosing a snugli however, parents should look for those made with breathable natural materials to make them ideal for use in any weather. Overall, the baby snugli is ideal for small babies, who are more comfortable in swaddled positions. It can be used on babies weighing 6 to 15 pounds. However, larger babies are better carried using ordinary carriers.
