Before getting into a Bruce Lee movies list, it is worth talking about the man. If it was not for the martial art skill of Bruce Lee along with his movies during the 1970s, martial arts would not have become such a part of the movie industry as it has in the years since that time. He was born with the name Lee Jun Fan in the city of San Francisco on the 27th of November in 1940, and in 1941, the family moved to Hong Kong.

His movie career started though back in 1941, in a movie called Golden Gate Girl (last on the Bruce Lee movies list below). Bruce was only an infant at that time and l

Eventually he went to a university in Seattle, Washington and studied philosophy and practiced his kung fu moves. In 1963, he opened a school to teach kung fu. This also led him to win some tournaments, and to meet William Dozier, a TV producer.

Dozier was looking for an actor of Oriental descent to play Kato, the sidekick of the Green Hornet, for a TV program about this superhero. Bruce tried out and got the part. The program only had limited success. However, Bruce became popular with the fans for his fight scenes. This led to some other movies and some minor Hollywood success. However, when he returned to Hong Kong he was offered a role in a movie called Fists of Fury, because Raymond Crow, a movie producer knew of his popularity with the Chinese youth. Bruce Lee is still revered and honored today in various ways including video games. On the 20th of July in 1973, Lee died from cerebral edema caused by a reaction to a headache pill that was used to cure a headache he had. He basically went to sleep and could not be revived. His fans were shattered and thousands of them showed up to pay their respects at his coffin. Bruce was buried in Seattle Washington. The above Bruce Lee movies list shows his many accomplishments in films.

Bruce Lee Movies’ List

Bruce Lee will always remain an icon and will always have a fan following. A true martial arts pro, Bruce Lee followed a very strict fitness regime that helped him become mentally and physically strong. His father was an actor and Bruce Lee was cast in movies ever since he was a kid. He tried his luck in Hollywood but all producers could give him was the part of “Kato” in the TV series, The Green Hornet (and Batman). He went back to Hong Kong where the character of Kato had become famous and that got him an entry into his now-part-of-history action flicks. Here is a Bruce Lee Movies List (including TV series) that turned Bruce Lee into an international kung-fu icon:

1. The Green Hornet and Batman (2 TV Series) (1966-1967): Bruce Lee plays Kato, the Green Hornet’s sidekick. This role made him very famous in Hong Kong.

2. Marlowe (1969): Okay, this should not be on the Bruce Lee movies list, as it is not a true Bruce Lee flick> Nevertheless it is his first Hollywood flick. Lee makes a brief appearance in which he threatens detective James Garner by wrecking his office and trying to turn Garner into pulp. In the fight, Bruce Lee misjudges a kick and falls off a tall building.

3. The Big Boss (USA title: Fists of Fury) (1971): Bruce Lee, who is sworn to non-violence starts working in an ice factory that smuggles heroin inside the ice. Workers who discover the secret mysteriously vanish. Then, out goes the oath of non-violence and Bruce Lee becomes the intense avenger. This is an early Bruce Lee movie full of intense action.

4. Fists of Fury (USA title: The Chinese Connection) (1972): This is a classic Japanese martial arts v/s Chinese martial arts movie containing very lethal action. The plot is simple – Bruce Lee’s teacher is murdered and so he must avenge, no questions asked, no quarters given.

5. Way of the Dragon (USA titles: Return of the Dragon/Revenge of the Dragon) (1972): Bruce Lee arrives in Rome to help his cousins who own a restaurant. The mafia wants the restaurant property but can’t touch it because Bruce Lee fights them off. So, they hire Japanese and European martial arts specialist to finish Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee’s classic and systemic fight with Chuck Norris in the climax is now legendary and part of lore.

6. Enter the Dragon (1973): Bruce Lee, a martial arts pro, is sent to participate in a tournament on a mysterious island that is owned by a character named Han. Bruce Lee teams up with John Saxon and Jim Kelly to unravel the secret and finish off Han. This is an absolute cult movie full of memorable fights (Bruce lee vs Robert Wall, Bruce Lee vs Han, John Saxon vs Bolo, and more). Here’s some fun trivia: Bruce Lee kills Jackie Chan in a fight scene. Can you spot Jackie Chan in the movie? He comes on for less than a minute!

7. Game of Death (1978): Bruce Lee died before Game of Death could be made. The movie was stalled because Bruce Lee wanted to make Enter the Dragon first. Lee died 6 days after the release of Enter the Dragon and the Game of Death had to be completed by using a substitute. The Game of Death too has many memorable fight sequence and the highlight is the fight between Bruce Lee and the 8-foot tall basketball player, Kareem Adbul Jabbar.

This is the definitive Bruce Lee movies list there is on the Internet.

Though football is known for tailgating parties, plenty of fans that follow other sports like to do this as well. A tail gate party is one that takes place before a game, and sometimes on into it, and though not everyone tailgates, it is a tradition that does not want to go away. Some people think of this as part of the experience of going to an NFL game and wouldn’t have as much fun without it. If you want to host a party on your own, there are some must-haves that you should work on, and then all you have to do is to relax and have fun no matter which team you root for later.

Food is a staple for any tail gate party that you can not do without. You can offer bags of chips with dip and other fun finger foods, but people are going to expect something hot and delicious at your party. There are typical foods like hotdogs and hamburgers, which will go over very well, but try to think of some original ideas. This can take some experimentation, because you typically have to cook all these things on a grill, but if you have something different, your party is going to draw a crowd each and every time you do it. You can build a reputation with one amazing food idea.

Drinks are an important part of a great tail gate party. This is one area where you should always deliver the good stuff, but you should also take some personal responsibility. You do not want to offer so much that your guests are hammered before the game even starts. This can cause fights, and can also lead to problems with their tickets being rejected because they are obviously intoxicated. You also don’t want someone’s DUI on your shoulders, especially if someone gets hurt or killed. Have a great selection of drinks, but find your inner bartender intuition and refuse more to someone who obviously does not need it.

Children can be a great part of a tail gate party too. Because children love football, they are often at games with their parents. If children are around, you have to have some child ready foods and drinks for them. You may even want to have some small games that they can play right there in the parking lot. If you know your kids are always going to be there, or if your close friends always bring kids, you may want to tone down the adult elements of your party to have a more family friendly one. You can still have fun, but remember kids learn what they see more than they learn what they are told.

Excessive tailgating can lead to problems just like excessive drinking in a local bar. You don’t want to have any legal problems just because you wanted to have a good time before the game. Keep tabs on your own drinking. You don’t want to forget the experience of the game just because you drank too much, and you certainly don’t want to see anyone hurt. A tail gate party is only a great one if everyone has fun. You don’t have to be ripped to have a great time, and in fact, you’ll have a better time if you take it easy and relax.

Think back to the last time you saw a movie at the movie theater. The line was long, and the tickets were expensive. The theater was too crowded, and you had to sit off-center, your view inconveniently blocked by a much taller person who really should have been sitting closer to the back. When you were actually able to see the screen, you became nauseous because your seat was too close to the front. Then the moviegoers sitting behind you kept whispering loudly from time to time and kicking your seat while you suffered in silence. Another moviegoer laughed obnoxiously and loudly at every joke in the film. A baby’s earsplitting cries ruined the dialogue. Soon after the baby was carried out of the theater, a cell phone rang.

Okay, maybe all of these things didn’t happen on the same night, but they’re all situations that frustrated movie theater patrons can relate to and have likely experienced. Theaters have since then required moviegoers to silence their phones before a showing, but ticket prices remain high and there’s not much they can do about inconsiderate customers (hey, a customer is a customer).

It’s really a matter of what you can do, and this is where home theater systems come into play as a viable solution. Don’t go to the theater, stay at home and enjoy a movie without all of the annoying repercussions of a public viewing. Enjoy private surround sound, the best seat in the house, personal company, and free concessions from your kitchen nearby. True, you might have to pay a substantial sum to install a home theater system in your living room and supply it with DVDs and Blu-ray discs, but think of the long term benefits instead of the short term setbacks. You’ll be able to enjoy these movies whenever you want with all of the benefits enumerated above. Compare that to numerous movie ticket and concession prices with a less-than-stellar viewing experience for a one-time showing, and you come to realize that home theater systems are worth every penny.

You can find a home theater system online, or at almost any electronics store near you. If you browse home theater systems on amazon.com and find one you like, you can even get free shipping and avoid the long-line hassle. As for which theater system to choose, the Sony, Panasonic and Samsung home theater systems are popular brand choices. But whichever brand you pick, rest assured that you’re bound to enjoy a pleasant viewing experience free of outside interruptions. Silence is golden, and a home theater system is priceless.

Nothing beats the feeling of being scared half to death by a fantastically freaky horror picture, especially at the theater surrounded by more freaked out moviegoers. Why is it that we love being frightened? Our hearts race and our pulse quickens and the hair on the back of our heads stands up as the ghoul jumps out from behind our hero. We jump straight up almost out of our chairs when that scary moment comes. Alas, great scary new movies have been hard to come by. Most of the junk that comes out of Hollywood could not frighten a heart transplant patient much less the typical jaded horror movie fan.

In 2009 one movie did come out that struck a nerve with audiences around the world and that was “Paranormal Activity”. This shocker, which cost very little to make and was mostly shot on high definition video has grossed over $110,000,000 in U.S. box office to date. It just came out on DVD and Blu-Ray and will probably gross another $50 million there in 2010.

“Paranormal Activity” was directed by first timer Oren Peli, who spent a mere $15 million to get his movie in the can. Starring newbies Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat as a suburban yuppie couple from San Diego that are being terrorized by a demon ghost from hell, this movie starts out pretty slow but builds up to an unforgettably chilling climax. I saw this film at the theaters with a packed house and everyone jumped out of their seat gasping in terror every few minutes or so, especially near the end. Scary new movies just don’t get much better than this and this particular movie not only did well with audiences but with critics alike. If you have not seen it you are missing out.

Another of the new scary movies that came out early in 2009 was “Antichrist” and it was a stark contrast to “Paranormal Activity” especially considering all of the hype it received before it opened. The trailers had it pegged as the new “Exorcist” and boy were they dead wrong. Made by Danish film maker Lars Von Triers and starring Willem DaFoe and Charlotte Gainsbourgh as a couple that have recently lost their toddler son in a home accident, the film is more of a psychosexual character study and a depiction of a fever dream than any kind of horror story. The problem with this movie is not the movie itself. It is what it is, some sort of art piece with over the top bloodletting and gruesomeness. No, the main problem is how this movie was falsely advertised to the movie going public as one of the scary new movies of the year along the lines of “The Grunge” or “The Ring”, neither of which it even remotely resembles.

You need to pay close attention to any claims by studios of scary new movies that are opening soon. One of the freakiest looking of any of the scary new movies coming out soon is “The Black Waters at Echo’s Pond”. Watch the trailer online and make up your own mind.

When Halloween rolls around each year, me and my friends and family always watch scary movies and hand out candy to trick or treaters—pretty traditional stuff, and always a lot of fun.

This past year, however, one of my friends posed a question to everyone present, asking us what were the scariest horror movies we had ever seen. I had to think about this one for a while, because I have seen so many scary movies, but eventually we all had our answers and took turns discussing our picks.

I got things started with “The Shining.” I first saw this movie when I was a teenager, and now, 20 years later, it still scares me. From the opening music, which is from Hector Berlioz’ “Symphonie Fantastique,” to the halls of the hotel filling with blood, to the bathroom scene with the corpse, it is without question one of the scariest horror movies of all time.

My wife chose next, and for her the scariest horror movie of all time was “The Exorcist.” We are both Catholic, and I think it might take on an especially frightening tone with us, but I had to agree with her that it was definitely one of the scariest movies I had ever seen.

My brother chose next, and he said for him, “The Amityville Horror” was among the scariest horror movies he had ever seen because he first saw it when he was a boy. He said that he had nightmares about it for weeks after he first saw it, and said that it was actually difficult for him to watch it now because of all of the memories it conjured up.

My sister, who is a bit younger than the rest of us, said of all the horror movies she had ever seen, “Final Destination” was the scariest for her. She said the concept of it fascinated her, and said the feeling of utter hopelessness and despair definitely added to its scariness.

One of our friends mentioned the movie “The Ring,” and another couple talked about “It” as being the scariest horror movie he had ever seen. He said a lot of the scariness for him, like my brother, was that he saw it when he was a child, and used to have to ask his dad to check his closet before he went to sleep to make sure there were no scary clowns in there.

There are many scary movies, and opinions about the scariest horror movies are going to vary, but there do seem to be a few that stand out from the rest. Movies from the “Friday the 13th” series or “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” for instance, were scary when we were children, but none of us counted them among the scariest movies we had ever seen. Those are reserved for the ones that you see and never forget as long as you live.

Back in the 40s and 50s, romantic comedy movies were huge hits. Stars like Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day, Jimmy Stewart, Rock Hudson, and many others began their careers in romantic comedy movies. Many spent their entire careers doing these kinds of fun films that combined love stories with situational comedy and witty banter. Movies like “Bringing Up Baby” and “The Philadelphia Story” became shining examples of the genre and helped to bring in lots of new audiences around the world to theatres.

Today’s top romantic comedy movies are crowd pleasers with hilarious storylines and wacky performances by some of the industry’s top actors and actresses. In 2009 we were given the gift of “The Proposal” starring Sandra Bullock as a “Type A” workaholic, tough as nails executive and Ryan Reynolds as her beleaguered and overworked assistant. When Bullock’s character is about to get deported to Canada she comes up with the hare- brained scheme to get married with Reynolds. The results are very funny and even touching near the end.

One of the best romantic comedy movies of the last ten years is “The 40 Year Old Virgin” starring sad sack comic actor Steve Carrell and the mature but still sexy Catherine Keener. Directed by then first-timer Judd Apatow, it has made a tremendous killing at the box office and in rentals and DVD sales all over the world and propelled Apatow and Carrell to further superstardom.

2007 brought us a deep dish goodie of a movie called “Waitress” starring the lovely Keri Russell as an abused wife who works in a pie restaurant somewhere in the Deep South. Russell is endearing and you fall in love with her as she battles her drunken, abusive husband and ends up having a torrid affair with the new, dashing town doctor. This movie is great fun overall with a good message.

In 2003 audiences were treated to one of the funniest romantic comedy movies of all time with “Something’s Gotta Give” starring a feisty Jack Nicholson and the colder, but sincere Diane Keaton in a pairing made in movie heaven. Nicholson plays an old playboy who is dating Keaton’s twenty-something daughter. When Jack gets a heart attack while having an amorous interlude and ends up recuperating for a few days at Keaton’s house, the sparks fly and comedy magic ensues. This is one that is not to be missed.

One of my personal favorite romantic comedy movies is the hilarious “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” which came out in 2008 and now ranks as one of the top money makers of the past ten years. Directed by Nick Stoller and written and starring Jason Segel, this is a very funny movie about a guy who can’t get over his break-up with a girl. Segel plays a nerdy TV show theme music composer who heads to Hawaii to somehow get over the loss of his gorgeous actress girlfriend, only to find her and her new rock star boyfriend vacationing in the condo next door.

Romantic comedy movies will continue to tickle our fancies as long as men and women continue to date, love, and get married.
