You don’t really have to feel guilty about playing mind tricks on your customers. It’s not really you. You’re just arranging for things to be in a certain way. Your customers’ minds do the rest.

For instance, if you have  a store or a website, and you’re thinking of the kind of lettering or font to use for the signage out front or on the banner on your website you might be tempted to go for something ornamental. If your business is kind of high-class, and you’re thinking that nice artsy fonts would be very nice, desist.

You know – if you’re trying to figure it how to sell more, the artsy stuff is what you need to lose first of all.  it’s not that your customers will hate artsiness. It’s just that ornate fonts andpretentious-looking design make people think that your business is going to be difficult for them to understand.

It’s going to put them off. When they look at what you have to offer, they’ll imagine that it all looks old-fashioned, tedious or even difficult to use. That’s what an artsy font does. It doesn’t work for you, and it makes people think you’re slowing old-fashioned. Don’t do it.

There are all kinds of strange ways in which people react to things. You’d never know it if you didn’t pay very close attention. For instance, let’s say that you have a coffee shop or restaurant or something. Or let’s say that you have a store that sells clothing. Did you know that if you put dollar-signs next to your prices, that it really makes people realize how much it costs?

Both you and your potential customer have to come away with the feeling that there’s been a positive use of your time.

To every potential customer, the decision  to buy isn’t just about whether he wants the services you have to offer. He also has to make up his mind if he likes you and your business enough to want to engage you. This is a personal decision, and it is one that you need to aim at. Each time you have a meeting, you need to make sure that you do whatever it takes for them to like you. Usually, this involves asking questions and truly trying to understand their business. That’s all it takes.

As in any personal relationship, speaking and asking questions is only one part. Listening is the other. You have to open your mind up and really listen for clues into want they really want.

After all this, you should be ready to give them a solution to whatever need of theirs it is that you’re aiming it. Remember – you’re not just trying to make a sale. You’re trying to learn what they need so that you can fulfill that need. Once that happens, you’ll be able to ask them to commit to a sale buying something, and then building a relationship.

Once the customer wastes his time shopping around unsuccessfully, he’ll come back to you. Only now, you’ll say that those prices have been revised. Your customer will be so exhausted at this point that he’ll just buy whatever you offer him.

Whatever car the customer seems to be interested in, you want right away to step up and say that you drive the same car or your wife does. If you’re feeling a little extra sentimental, you have to tell them that your mother drives that car. Of course it’s all lies. And even if it is the truth, you’re only driving the car because you work at a used car dealership and you got that car for free.

If the customer seems a little bit unwilling to buy, what you do is, you offer the car to the customer for couple of days, just to get a feel for her. When you’re hoping for is that when you’re being so nice and generous, the customer will feel bad about returning ist just walking away.

That’s how to become a car salesman in the used trade. You have to have no conscience.

It robs your skin of its natural moisture and fat to keep for itself.

And here you were, believing that you were treating your feet well, with woolen socks. Basically, even if you wear synthetic socks, you don’t want the socks to rub much against your skin. Anything rubbing against your skin is going to rob it of its moisture. So don’t wear tight shoes, either.

Well, so much for what you are doing wrong. Here’s what you can do that’s right. Right before bedtime every night, rub your feet up with nice moisturizer or even plain safflower oil. And then wrap your feet up in clingfilm. This will keep all the moisture inside. That’s how to make your feet soft.

But surely, you’re telling yourself, there must at least be a few instructions to do with how to care for Betta fish. Surely they can’t be completely maintenance free, can they?

Well, you would be right, and that’s what we are here to discuss – how to care for Betta fish, even if there isn’t much to learn.

Let’s start with the most basic kind of instruction possible – how much water they need. At the pet store or the aquarium store, they’ll try to hype how little they need to live on, They’ll say that they will happily live in a glass of water. There could be a bit of an ulterior motive perhaps to this kind of irresponsible advice.  They just might want to see your fish give up the ghost so that they can sell you another one as soon as possible.

Don’t listen to them; these beautiful fish need to be treated with more dignity. Put them in a tank that holds at least 2 gallons of water. Give them a little room to stretch their legs. And being selfish about it for a minute, this does make a lot of sense for you too. A large tank that holds a lot of water will need to be cleaned out less often.

There’s another reason why a large bowl makes a lot of sense. When there’s a lot of water in a tank, it tends to be heat up and cool down a lot more slowly. Your fish will be more comfortable this way. Temperature regulation is how you care for Betta fish.

Betta fish certainly are not better than goldfish in at least one way – they are very unfriendly fish. Put more than one fish in a bowl, and they’ll be at each other until one of them is dead.
You probably understood from the water temperature discussion above that Betta fish can be sensitive to the temperature in their environment. And so they are. They need the water at 80 degrees all the time. If you live in a cool climate, you’ll need a fish heater. Thankfully, they don’t cost much – perhaps $10 or so.

And finally, if at the pet store they try to sell you special water or water conditioner for your fish, don’t buy. Tap water is just as good.

The first thing you want to do has nothing to do with opening the hood. You need to look at the car’s history. Even if the car is nearly new, it’s no excuse for you to just overlook the history check process. It could be a car that was caught in a flood somewhere and that had its engine damaged. Flood-damaged cars are worthless. To make sure that it’s nothing like that, make sure that you look up its VIN history report. That’s the first thing you learn about how to check a used car.

And then, we come to the actual engine. You need to start by looking into the engine well in case there’s any sign of any oil leaking. You could look under the car to for any signs of oil leakage.  Of course, the salesperson will have some kind of story to explain this away. But don’t fall for it. There are lots of cars available on the lot you don’t have to go for anything with a possible problem.

Look for the service records, too. Modern engines can be very sensitive to any careless oil change practices. Especially engines with turbochargers.

In fact, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to check the oil right then yourself. How to check a used car for engine oil related problems? Well, the first thing you want to do is to start the car and let it idle for 5 min. Set the parking brake, leave the engine running and open the hood. You’ll find the engine oil dipstick somewhere along the front of the engine. It’s usually color-coded yellow. Pull it out, wipe it, dip it in all the way, and then check it again. If it’s a diesel car, black engine oil is normal. For a gasoline car, it needs to be kind of reddish.

Basically, you’re looking for a dipstick that looks clean and bright. You don’t want any dark stains or anything there. If you do have something there of the kind, that would be your sign that it’s a poorly-maintained car.

The next thing you want to do is to check for possible leaks. It doesn’t matter if the car’s engine looks perfect. It could have been shampooed. Lie down in front of the car and check out the engine with a flashlight. That’s how to check a car engine. Everything should be proper and dry. If you see any oil drops hanging anywhere or any drops of oil on the tarmac, that’s a very bad sign. Try to look at the inside of the engine oil cap too. It needs to look clean. If there’s any black sludge built up, that’s your cue to run.
