Cruise ship jobs have actually been on my radar for a long time, but I’ve never seriously checked into them before. I always thought there would be far too many hoops to jump through in order to land one of these positions, and feared that the competition would be too fierce. And while it’s true that cruise ship jobs are indeed highly sought after by people that want to get paid to travel to exotic destinations, I now realize that I have just as much of a chance of getting hired as anyone else.

Finding available cruise ship jobs is easier today than ever before. That’s because there are numerous websites that do nothing but advertise all the open positions that major carriers are looking to fill, making it a simple matter to search and apply for cruise ship jobs online. Some of these websites require a membership fee, but many are free, so I’m confident about getting a call for an interview very soon.

What kind of cruise ship jobs are out there these days? Just about everything you can imagine! Of course, there are all the positions you’d expect an ocean-going vessel to have to fill, including deck hands, cabin stewards, and other general staff. Then, because we’re basically talking about a floating hotel, the liners have to have a housekeeping crew, full kitchen and dining staff (including cooks, bartenders, and waiters) and even accountants. And we haven’t even begun to talk about the fun cruise ship jobs yet! These include entertainment staff (dancers, musicians, DJs, and magicians), casino personnel, instructors (golf, scuba, swimming, and aerobics), beauticians, and more.

Multiply all these openings by all the liners out there, and as you can see, there are plenty of cruise ship jobs that need to be filled! The pay is excellent, room and board are included, and I’ll get to travel to the same places that others shell out big bucks to go to. Now this sounds like a gig that’s absolutely perfect for me!
